2009 September Prelude Chamber Music Workshop
Guest Artists: Early music specialists from Yale,
Harvard, Bard, Northwestern and UNC

September Prelude The workshop will feature master classes for adults. The guest artists are:

Cynthia Roberts and Krista Bennion Feeney, violins, Owen Dalby, viola, Phoebe Carrai, cello, Robbie Link, bass, Brent Wissick, viola de gamba, Ilya Poletaev, harpsichord and fortepiano Sandra Miller, flute, Stephen Hammer, oboe and recorder

In addition to the guest artists, coaches will include artists from UNC, Duke, and the NC Symphony. The classes will target repertoire for strings, strings and piano, and mixed ensembles with winds. Pre-formed groups are encouraged to apply. Individual applications are also welcomed.

The first concert in the 2009-2010 Sights & Sounds series features soprano Louise Toppin, pianist David Heid, and cellist Timothy Holley in a program entitled More than a Spiritual.

The program includes Robert Owens' Heart on the Wall, five songs for soprano and piano on poems by Langston Hughes, and Valerie Capers Song of the Seasons

The program also includes songs by Leslie Adams, H. T. Burleigh, Jackie Hairston, Willis L. James, Hall Johnson, Thomas Kerr, Undine S. Moore, Florence Price, Ralph Simpson, and William Grant Still.  More...

The Raleigh Chamber Music Guild Masters Series announces its 68th season, with an exciting roster of artists spanning a wide range of instrument ensembles. We hope you share our excitement and will join us for the 2009-2010 season. Concerts take place at 3 PM in Fletcher Theater of the Progress Energy Center.

Sights & Sounds on Sundays — 2009-2010 Season  North Carolina Museum of Art

Now celebrating its 11th season, this series is a cooperative venture of the North Carolina Museum of Art and the Raleigh Chamber Music Guild, features some of the most exciting performers in our region. All concerts take place at 3 PM, but because of construction at the North Carolina Museum of Art, three of the concerts will be in alternate venues. Click the links below for details.
